Information Note
Józef Zawojski and his cousin Krzysztof for 10 years collected information about their roots and the now defunct village of their fathers. The result of their search and inquiry is a book that tells an unknown story of the Bieszczady Mountains from the point of view of the descendants of Polish families who came to this land from Nowy Sącz at the beginning of the 18th century. In many messages we find elements of the culture of the Nowy Sącz highlanders and their gradual ruthenisation. The book tells the documents and memories of the dead inhabitants of this small Bojkowska village. It touches on the sources of the Ukrainization of the Bieszczady people, their great economic emigration to America and everyday life. It is a way of looking at the history of the region based on collected historical knowledge and oral traditions. History and tradition form a whole. lands and political manipulation, which the people living in this land became a victim. The book begins with a poem and ends with a song that was born during the "WISŁA" campaign in the original Boyko language. The book does not exhaust the topic completely. It makes us bend over faith and its living message ... This must be read.
